The percentage of individuals using at least basic sanitation services refers to the proportion of people utilizing improved sanitation facilities that are not shared with other households. Improved sanitation facilities encompass flush toilets connected to a sewage system, septic tanks or pit latrines, ventilated improved pit latrines, composting toilets, or latrines with a slab.
